John P. Judge has over 40 years of experience in environmental counseling, permitting and litigation. John has represented clients in state and federal courts and before state and federal agencies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in virtually all areas of environmental law, including hazardous waste regulation, Superfund cost recovery actions, Clean Air Act enforcement, toxic tort actions, Clean Water Act regulation, and the Solid Waste Management Act. In addition to representing clients in environmental litigation matters, John provides environmental, health and safety regulatory counseling and negotiation assistance to clients in chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and energy industries. John has been environmental counsel to several high-profile brownfield redevelopment projects.
Since 2006, John has been recognized by Chambers and Partners as a leading environmental practitioner in Pennsylvania. With his extensive experience, John is also available to serve as a mediator in disputed matters that are in need of a calm and pragmatic approach to resolution.
John graduated from Indiana University School of Law (J.D., 1985) and received his master's degree in Environmental Science from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 1986. In 1980, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to attending law school, John worked in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's aquatic toxicology and wetlands regulation groups. John is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
